The Canton Electrical JATC accepts applications online all year long. We have made some updates to our process, so please read ALL the information below for the minimum requirements, steps, and the documentation you will need to submit for the application process. Eligibility

APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must be 18 years of age by July 1, of current year.
  2. Must be a high school graduate or have a G.E.D. by July 1, of current year.
  3. Must have one full credit of High School or College Algebra with a passing grade.
  4. Must be capable of passing a drug screen if accepted.
  5. Proof of a valid driver’s license.
  6. Pay $45 application fee and begin application

Please Note: You may apply for any or all programs, however the $45 application fee does apply to each program

Steps and Documentation Needed:

Step 1: Application: Before beginning, please ensure you have a clear photo of your valid driver’s license ready to upload to complete the application process. You will have 1 week to complete and submit the application once started.

Step 2: Personal Experience Form (PEF): Once our office reviews your application and verifies that it is complete, you will receive an email from GAN Human Resources with a link to begin your Personal Experience Form (PEF). Please make sure you follow ALL instructions provided!

  • Deadline: The PEF must be completed within 2 weeks of receiving the email.

  • Content: Covers your background, skills, and work history. Detailed instructions will be included in the email.

Documentation Required for the PEF: Please gather the following documents prior to starting your application, you will need to upload these items to complete your PEF:

  • Education: transcript (unofficial are OK; foreign transcripts must be translated)
  • Work experience: pay stub, employer letter, W-2 + pay stub, or 1099 (must show proof of hours)
  • Military (if applicable): DD-214, NGB Form 22, or current service docs
  • Optional (but highly recommended): up to 3 letters of recommendation — only the top-scoring one counts

Step 3: Aptitude Test: The training center will contact you with testing details, time and date for test, providing your PEF is complete and submitted by the deadline. Please check out our FAQ’s page for some tips for a preparing for the test
