The Canton Electrical JATC accepts applications online all year long. We have made some updates to our process, so please read the information below for the minimum requirements and the documentation you will need to submit with your application. Eligibility

APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must be 18 years of age by July 1, of current year.
  2. Must be a high school graduate or have a G.E.D. by July 1, of current year.
  3. Must have one full credit of High School or College Algebra with a passing grade.
  4. Must be capable of passing a drug screen if accepted.
  5. Proof of a valid driver’s license.

Documentation Needed:

THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ARE REQUIRED TO BE SUBMITTED WITH YOUR APPLICATION:

  1. OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT:  A legible OFFICIAL (to be considered official, your transcript must have your school’s raised seal or a signature by a school official) transcript of your completed high school courses and showing grades received, or high school equivalency or GED certificate. In lieu of either of those documents, a two-year associate degree or higher will be acceptable. Transcripts may be mailed directly to our office (at the address provided below), sent electronically to our jatc@cantonjatc.org email, or personally delivered to our facility and placed in our mailbox in a sealed envelope at the entrance of the building. Please call the office if you have any questions.
  2. A copy of your Driver’s License, this may be uploaded through the website.
  3. Reference Letters: You may submit up to 3 reference letters via the portal. All submitted letters must be signed and dated by the author to be accepted.

    Note: If you choose not to submit reference letters, you must still follow the directions at the top of the “Application Steps” page to properly complete ALL steps and finalize your application.

Important Application Requirements:

  • 30-Day Deadline: You have exactly 30 days to complete your application and submit all required items.

  • Online Submission: Everything must be submitted online, except for your transcripts (which must follow the specific instructions provided above).

  • What “Complete” Means: Your application is only considered complete once all steps are done, and our office has received and verified all supporting documents.

  • Next Steps: Once your application has been verified complete you will then receive an email confirmation, and be scheduled for the next step in the application process.

  • Additionally: PLEASE notify the office upon completion of the application if you have previously sat for the aptitude test with another JATC, or have verifiable electrical construction experience. Let us know if you have any questions on these items.
  • We accept applications year-round.
